William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway 27 November 1582. Shakespeare was eighteen, whilst Anne was twenty-six and already pregnant with their first child. They remained married until Shakespeare’s death in 1616. Upon his death Shakespeare bequeathed his wife his second best bed.
