12 August 1949 Big Ben was unable to chime at 9pm as a flock of starlings had roosted on the clock face hands. This caused the clock to run almost five minutes slower. But, do you know what connects the chimes of Big Ben to Martinique, a prison cell in St Pierre and the Natural History Museum, London?
